Today is Saturday, the 21st of March, 2020. This is the second post of the day.
With the improved weather, we went out for our daily walk along a path in the parkland that divides a main four-lane road into Vilamoura. The above photo shows how little traffic there now is late on a Saturday afternoon.
As with many other western countries, Portugal's coronavirus infection rate appears to be doubling every 2-3 days although Portugal started from a lower baseline than other European countries. People appear to be taking the shelter in place requirements quite seriously.
Our resort appears quite deserted. They have a skeleton staff of 1-2 people on duty during the day. I assume that that drops to one during the overnight hours.
Check this space tomorrow morning as we hope to be going to the birds.
