Today is Sunday, the 29th of March, 2020.

Yesterday, I mentioned that, after travelling around the Algarve we had found a place that we might seriously consider returning to next year. That place is the town of Alvor, the town square of which is pictured above.

Alvor, a town of 8500, was founded in 436 BCE by the Carthaginians. While it now is a destination for tourists, it continues to maintain its connection to sea as a fishing village with the fish market open from Tuesday through Saturday and a general market open on Sundays.

This small town doesn't have the hustle and bustle of larger cities such as the nearby Portimão or the popular Albufeira.
