The old, Jewish quarter was located close to the sources of power when Córdoba was under both Christian and Islamic rule. 

With time available to us before dinner, we wandered the narrow streets and lanes of this quarter deciding on where we would like to go and what we would like to see the following morning.

While not as narrow as in the medina in Tangier, the streets were very narrow.


Pedestrians hugged the walls or retreated into the nearest doorway when cars attempted to navigate these narrow streets. 

 

Eventually, the streets narrowed even further so that even small cars were unable to make it through the laneways.
