We continued to speed on across Andalusia, along Spain's excellent autoroutes. Speed because most motorists consider 120 km/h as a suggested maximum while, for others, it seems to be a mandatory minimum.

It was a beautiful, sunny spring day on the Andalusian plain. No sign of the rain in Spain falling anywhere on the plain.

Soon traffic slowed a bit as we approached Seville, the largest city in Andalusia. Soon the traffic was almost bumper to bumper but only slowing slightly.

The GPS, with it's calm. dulcet voice said, "In two-hundred metres, take the exit ramp on the right to SE-30.

Okay. SE-30 ramp on right. Got it.

There it is! My god that was fast. Exit right. Don't swerve. Okay, made it.

For about ten seconds, there was a smile on my face. I'd successfully left the first autoroute and was now heading towards the second. Then I realized I was on the SE-30 but going in the wrong direction!

Sometimes it's easy to correct one's mistakes. Sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it just isn't worth it. This was the latter. So, instead of taking the bypass around Seville, we drove right through the centre.

By the time we finally got to the second autoroute, our 3:00 PM check-in time had faded to a dream.
